Polyimide can be used at high temperatures and has no glass transition temperature and no visible melting point and therefore maintains their good dimensional stability and mechanical properties.

The upper limit at short-term peak temperatures is 450°C and it has minimal outgassing in vacuum. Due to their intrinsic purity, Polyimide is also frequently used for high purity applications.
