FEP (Fluorine Ethylene Propylene) FEP is very similar to the fluoropolymers PTFE and PFA. FEP and PFA have the same advantages of PTFE, such as low friction and inertness, but FEP is more easily deformable. FEP is softer than PTFE and melts at 260°C; it is transparent and resistant to sunlight.
FEP also offers chemical and thermal resistance to aggressive environments, making it an excellent choice for membranes, gaskets, upholstery for sample bags and containers. Machined shapes and contours can be produced via cutting, stamping and direct molding. The weather resistance and optical properties of FEP film also provide excellent performance for greenhouses and solar collectors.
